camcorder jvc vs sony

Camcorder choices…JVC GR-D850 with built-in light vs. Sony DCR-HC62 or 52 with Nightshot but no light?
I am trying to decide between several camcorders. My main purpose, besides general use, is for videotaping my pets, often indoors in room to low light.
I have it down to the JVC GR-D850 or the Sony Handycam DCR-HC62 or 52. The JVC seems to have slightly better quality as per online reviews, and a built in light–great for those hiding-under-the-bed-shots, while the Handycams have no light, but DO have the infrared Nightshot feature.
I’m thinking the built-in light is better, since it will give more natural shots in dark spots (if bright enough?) but then again, you can always spend more money and get an add-on light to mount on the Sony, and still have the infrared capability which seems cool (but is it really useful?). In short, I am confused and not sure how to decide this one…
I *think you answered your own question:
“you can always spend more money and get an add-on light to mount on the Sony, and still have the infrared capability which seems cool (but is it really useful?).”
In my opinion: Better to have the flexibility and not use it than not have it and think you need it.
