camcorder outlet

I’m looking to buy a camcorder, help? ?
Hi, I’m new to video production, but recently I’ve been looking to buy a camcorder.
Someone recommended these features in a camcorder:
3ccd
16/9 and 4/3 capability
Manual focus and auto focus
image stabilizer
Is there a camcorder under 500 which have these features?
Other features I would like is
firewire
mic outlet
and digital ability… (able to be uploaded to computer)
I guess I’m asking because I don’t really know where or how to look.
I’m pretty much a newb and I thought this might be a good place to start looking.
Thank you for help…
If you are serious about video production, you will stay with miniDV tape. ALL miniDV tape based camcorders use firewire for video transfer. All miniDV tape camcorders can have some sort of manual focus and zoom and some sort of image stabilization. Optical is better than digital – but rather than go handheld, use a tripod. No amount of optical stabilization will make handheld camcorder video capture steady. Pretty much all miniDV camcorders allow 4:3 standard definition and widescreen (16:9) standard definition. The DV in miniDV = Digital Video. It is as digital as a hard drive (HDD) or flash memory video, but much less compressed resulting in superior video quality as compared to the other consumer video storage formats.
The least expensive camcorder worth buying with a 3CCD imaging chip set is the Panasonic PV-GS320. It does not have a mic jack and does not allow for manual audio.
The least expensive camcorders worth buying with a mic jack are the Canon ZR900 and ZR930. They do not have manual audio control and are single CCD camcorders.
The least expensive camcorders worth buying with a mic jack and manual audio control are the Canon HV30 and Sony HDR-HC9. They are both single CMOS imaging chip camcorders. They also capture 1080i high definition and both aspect ratios of standard definition. Both of these are beyond your stated budget.
Price-wise, they go higher. Next comes the Canon GL2, Sony HVR-HD1000U, HVR-A1U, Sony HDR-VX2000… and it gets more after that. I think the GL2 meets all your technical requirements – but is more than your stated budget.
I hate to break it to you, but there is no camcorder available that meets all your requirements – unless you buy used. So, you need to figure out where you are willing to compromise… either reduce your technical requirements and specifications or increase your budget.
