Credit Card Fraud? Lost Credit Card Laws?
I lost my credit card and reported to the company after just 24 hr. There is a transaction around 600 hundred dollars. I know that I may not be responsible for that transaction BUT does the credit card company go after the store or the thief to recover the money? They can check the store camera! Do they really do any action to recover their money or it’s just a part of lose in their business since it happens a lot for credit card companies. So do they do any action to recover the money and go after the thief?
Once it’s reported to the credit card co, it’s their problem now, not yours. I suggested you put your name on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They’ll notify the other 2 bureaus and must be renewed every 90 days in order to keep it active. Better to be safe than sorry later.
