Can anyone recommend a price friendly starter camera?
I have no background in cameras whatsoever but I’d like to start photographing nature and moving objects.Problem is I am not sure which camera I should get.I would prefer manual cameras and those that are not so expensive one.Can someone guide me to what I should be looking at?Thank you =)
If you want to learn about photography on the cheap, and with a manual , you could get hold of a film camera – people are virtually giving them away as they switch to digital. I gave away a Minolta X-300 35mm SLR on a group called Freecycle. You can find your local Freecycle group here:
www.freecycle.org
Freecycle has over 2.5million members world-wide. It exists to link people who have stuff they no longer want or need with those who can make use of it. The main rule is that anything offered must be offered for free. It’s perfect for people having garage clear-outs, or de-junking sessions. You quite often see film cameras on Freecycle groups.
Of course, there are developing costs to consider with film cameras, I suppose. On the other hand, basic 35mm manual SLRs can be had free or cheap, as can the lenses which go with them. I ended up with a 28mm wide-angle and a nice 100mm lens for my Minolta for about £25 on eBay.
