I want to take a star trails picture with my canon powershot s5 IS how do i change the exposure time.. Also are there any other settings like the aperture, ISO, or shutter speed that i should change.. I’m just learning how to use this camera.. so i greatly appreciate any help
can anyone help me?

See pages 64-65 in your advanced manual.

Put the camera in the Tv mode (the dial on top) and then use the arrow buttons (left < or > right) to change the time. It will go from 1/3,200 of a second to 15 seconds. 15 seconds is shown as 15″. “Zero point three” seconds is shown as 0″3. Unfortunately, you will not really be able to record star trails, even at 15 seconds, which is the longest time available with your camera.
