camera flash mounts
Sunpak 2000DZ (external flash) compatible with Canon EOS 30D Camera?

I’ve tried mounting the Sunpak with my 30D but it’s not working but I’m wondering if I need to choose a certain setting on either my camera or the external (mount) flash in order to activate it? I’ve searched the internet to see if these 2 products are compatible but cannot find anything & the Canon manual doesn’t say anything of it either.
Jim: a friend of mine loaned me the external flash to try on my camera (I would definitely check compatibility before I bought one:)

You’ve been lucky. Your flash has a trigger voltage of a mere 3v.
Some Sunpak flashes put 200v through your camera which is Not A Good Thing.
Anything over 6v is suspect.

Try the flash’s manual…
