How does a Disposable Camera Flash Work?

I am looking to find what makes the flash in a disposable camera charge by simply holding down a button. I would love to know what exactly goes on within the camera itself that electricity can be charged and used for a flash.
Any help or the direction to a place or someone who could help would be greatly appreciated.

Since the camera will only be used for a short time, the battery only needs enough power to fire the flash for the number of pictures that the camera takes (plus a little for reserve) and it does not have to be rechargeable
