Why is the quality of my photo so bad (Olympus 1050 SW)?

Till today, I didn’t know anything about shutter speed or ISO. Now that I do, it seems to explain why my photographs were always so grainy. The problem is, I don’t know how to change it :(

I have an Olympus 1050 SW. I read some reviews and turns out everything is automatic so I’m pretty lost. I bought this camera a year ago and at the moment, I can’t seem to find the manual. I think I’ve misplaced it. Anyways, if I can’t change any of the ISO or shutter speed settings, is there anything at all I can do to make the pictures less blurry/grainy? People have told me 10.1 megapixels is great but I think my cell phone can take better quality pictures than this camera :(

I have a Sony DSC W230, I think it works amazing, I want to be a photographer, and this is just what I need to begin. It is a decent price too!
