Is it a better deal to buy a used slr camera in good condition or just a new one?
Okay so im 13 and am interested in photography. I love taking pics. of scenery but dont have a great camera to do it. so anyways, my mom’s friend is a photographer and she does weddings. but i was wondering if i should ask her if there was a person that got their start with a slr camera like the d300 and then moved onto something better as they got better. so should i look for a used camera that one of her students has used or just get a new one?
Many people start with entry level cameras then move on to better ones. Not a big deal.
Youre only 13. Get what you can afford to start with. You have plenty of time for upgrades. If you buy used its best to buy from a reputable camera dealer.
If youre used to shooting with point n shoots you may even lose interest in DSLRs once you start using them. Many who start give it up. They get tired of carrying all the equipment or even just such a large camera.
