I need help transferring DV from my camera to my computer.?

I have a Dell computer that wasn’t equipped with a IEEE 1394 port, so I bought a Q Stor PCI Multimedia Combo Card. My camera is a JVC Mini DV Camera, model number GR-D370U. I put it in and installed the software that came with it, but every software I’ve tried for capturing the video says no device detected, and the camera didn’t show up as a removable device. I don’t know what’s wrong and I need help. Thanks.

I know it sounds like a ridiculous thing, put have you made sure the camera is on? I had a similar problem and it turned out i’d run out of battery, which is why my computer wasn’t picking it up.

If not, you could also try getting a new cable, sometimes the ones that come with the cameras are a bit dodgy
