digital camera explained
digital camera?

I’m going to buy a cheap, $150 camera soon. The problem is, I don’t know what to look for in a camera. a lot of people say megapixels and other technical terms. Can someone explain the terms to me? What’s the most important thing to look for? what are the best sites and brands?

Basically, I just need to know… basically everything that makes a good digital camera.

And if you can link me to some good cameras around the $150 price range, that would be nice as well :)

I recommend that you go to a store like best buy and try out the different models until you find one that is easy for you to use. It sounds like your needs are fairly basic, so I recommend the one my wife got… a Kodak. The interface is fairly intuitive and easy to deal with. At the price range you are describing, most cameras come with about the same bells and whistles. Mega pixels, simply put, is a measure of the resolution of the image. The more mega pixels, the more information in the digital file the camera will take. If, as I suspect, you just want to be able to take nice snapshots, try to get the most mega pixels in the price range you have set. However, don’t sacrifice ease of operation for technical things like mega pixels, because, if the camera is a pain in the butt to use, you will end up hating it.
