What setting has to be on my digital camera if it take pictures on the table that lights up?..?

i have canon
I want the background to be all white and my item isolated from it (i take pictures of jewelry)
I was told that there is a special setting that makes all background that lights up – white

I’m not sure of that setting.
You could do something with your manual settings to overexpose your background though.

Try putting a white background and setting up a flash to light up your subject.
If you do not have a speedlight/flash unit, you might consider a macro ring light to give an even lighting.
