How to convert 35mm photos to a digital camera format{JPEG}?
I have many photos taken from my vivitar 35mm camera but now I want to put all these photographs in to my Computer in a jpeg file. Can anyone tell me how to do this.I have a Scanner,35mm Photo Slides,Printer, and a DVD R/W.Can anyone tell me which software should I use and from which link can I get that for free.Anybody who gives right answer will be 10 points.
you donĀ“t need any software save for the one you got with your scanner. it has a “save as” option where you can choose between jpeg, tif, bmp, and gif. select “save as jpg”. you also need to set up dpi.

4800dpi gives you very large files, so i suggest seting it at no more that 1200 (that is of course unless you plan to resize them in other software). software that can help you resize them thus making them smaller in kb size, is gimp.

for uploading, i usually scan negatives at 4800dpi and then resize them to about 800 pixel per longer side. those photos weight only about 150kb witch makes it easy to upload and see.
if you plan to store your scans i suggest this:
scann them all as .tiff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagged_Image_File_Format) at 4800dpi and then using GIMP if you wish to edit them and upload them, or just burn them on dvd.
dvd burning software is easy. select “burn data cd (or dvd)” and drag all of your images to the folder that pops up as burning folder.
free burning software:
