Also which brand of digital cameras are best?

While dpreview’s comparisons are based on their pro level reviews, they do have a forum where digital camera users can talk about their likes and dislikes of various cameras.

There is a site called Nikonians that discusses Nikon cameras and photo.net’s Canon board, so I am sure there is one out there that discusses other brands as well.
