Is there any point taking camera and mobile phone recharges on holiday to Japan (I’m from Australia)?

Our power system is 240 volt and theirs is 110 volt (like the US system I think). I don’t have a voltage converter.

Japan is 100V. You would have to have a transformer/converter to use the devices. They would be not only somewhat expensive, but also rather heavy. You would be better off buying a couple of extra batteries off eBay for your camera. You can get them pretty cheap. Mobile phone batteries, I don’t know. But I also don’t know if your phone will even work here in Japan.
