Why wont my Insignia HD Camcorder turn on?

My Insignia HD camcorder will not turn on, I know its not the charging because it wont turn on while its charging. I got it on christmas, so it is fairly new and ive barely got a chance to use it. If you can give me a way to fix the problem that would be a great help

Did you put the battery in? The Insignia HD won’t work at all without the battery inserted.
