What is best for me? A PC Running Windows XP/Vista or an iMac 20″?

Greetings Everyone!

I want to buy a new computer for my home and business use.

At home I use it for vids, photos, music and standard apps. I don’t have the time to play many games.

I am going into business soon. We will open a language school and we want to do accounts, desktop publishing (fliers and newsletters) and making ads/worksheets. We need to be able to use English OS but Japanese language & software.

We will also be setting up a podcast service and we will want to do video-conferencing so that I can give lessons on the Internet. We need a good camera/mic setup.

I’m sick of buying things like System Mechanic, anti-spyware/virus etc. just to keep my Win-Tel machine running.

From now on I am getting reliability!

Should I buy

1 A cheap PC that runs Windows XP as i guess they will be getting cheap soon?
2 A new PC running Windows Vista?
3 An iMac? Thinking of the iMac 20″ 2.16GHz 2GB, 250GB HD, SuperDrive.

get the iMac

- I have been a PC user and a mac use for over 6 years…

I have 2 PC’s (Dell, and a shuttle) and I have 2 macs (ibook and a iMac)…. mac is far better for these reasons…

the machines are more stable, faster, easier to maintian, and there is much more attention to detial as far as product design and UI. Also with the new macs you can run both windows and OSx no problem…

Now both my PC’s run like poop. They are slow.. I am constantly having problems with spy whare and viruses… and they are clunky… and my shuttle is a pretty beefy system.

Now if you do by a mac here is a tip:
I recomend you get it maxed with ram… Don’t go with the first option on RAM…

And get the extra support… While i find macs are the better product they can have some flaws (nothing is 100% perfect). The support will cover most of the big problems…

Also if you get the iMac do not install the extended screen hack… this can lead to some other flaws later on…

Have fun =o)
