Can’t transfer my edited video footage data to disc.?

I have motionDV STUDIO LE for DV on my computer that I have edited video camera footage with. It came with the panasonic video camera. I don’t seem to be able to transfer the edited data onto a disc. The instruction manual says I need a DV connection cord (which i don’t have) to transfer the information back to the tape in the video camera. I have saved the edited information in both mpg and asf formats. I can open the files in windows media player but from here it won’t transfer the data to disc. The disc size is large enough and is R-W. I have tried slowing down the copy speed but doesn’t make a difference. Is there a way of transferring my data straight to disc????? Please explain in simple terms.

If you’re making a DVD video disc to be played back in a standard DVD player, the video has to be encoded as mpeg2. This is the standard for DVD. If the mpeg is non-DVD compliant, it may not allow you to burn it. Some DVD authoring software may automatically re-encode the file into mpeg2, some may require a third party editing software to do so.

If you want to record the video back to tape, you do need a firewire cord, supporting editing software, such as Adobe Premiere and the video must be rendered as a DV AVI format.
