Can you use Fuji memory cards with Nikon cameras?

I’m thinking about getting a new digital camera, and I currently have a Fuji camera and 2 memory cards for it, the one that came with the camera and one that I bought. I’m looking at a Nikon camera I kind of like, but is it possible to use a Fuji memory card with the Nikon cameras so I don’t have to go get a new memory card too?

Depends on the TYPE of memory card the camera is designed to use, NOT the manufacturer’s name ON the card. One thing to be aware of, if the memory card says it is a SD memory card. CONTRARY to the TWO TOP CONTRIBUTERS above, SD cards are NOT SD cards all the time! There are 2nd generation SD cards which say SDHC. They are not backwards compatible. A device which uses SD memory, is not likely to be able to use SDHC memory, but a device which uses SDHC memory CAN use the older 1st generation SD memory. Otherwise, the cards LOOK identical from the outside. For Compact Flash (CF) memory cards, there is a size difference in the thickness. The slots are “keyed” so the card will only fit in one way. A type I CF card is about 4mm thick. A type II CF card is about 6mm thick. Of course, the card slots match the thickness. You can use a type I card in either, but a type II card will only fit in the wider type II slot. Look in the docs for your camera and the new one you are considering for the specs on the type of card you need and if it matches the type, you are good to go.
