panasonic camcorder firewire port

Firewire isn’t working, tried everything I can think of.?
So I have a camcorder, a Panasonic PV-DV52D-S. I got this about 5 years ago and never had any trouble with it. I stopped using it for a while and last year I built my own computer. Since then I can’t get th is camcorder to work. The motherboard I chose had built-in firewire ports. Those weren’t working, or so I thought, so I bought a new pci firewire card. This isn’t working either. I know the camcorder use to work and now…. well I just don’t know. Any ideas?
Yes I tried updating the drivers. I also tried rolling the drivers back to SP1. Nothing seems to work. When the system is booting up it says the IEEE 1394 host adapter is using IRQ 3, however when I go into device manager I do not see anything using that IRQ.
Have you tried updating the drivers for the Firewire? You can either check the web for your specific hardware driver or the card that you bought should have come with a drivers CD.
