photography basics f stop
5d mark ii tips/help?

i just upgraded from the xsi/t1i to the 5d mark ii. i never knew it’d be so complicated! but i’m really serious about photography so i decided to get a professional one. i plan to go to college and major in digital photography, btw i’m almost 16.

can someone just tell me some things about it? ANYTHING.
10 points asap when i get some answers :)

i know the basics of dslr’s
ex: higher iso is for low light conditions and = more noise.
i know everything about lenses and f stop.

thanks :)
my mom bought be the camera because she knows how serious i am about photography.

First off, congratulations on your new camera! The 5dMkII is an amazing little beast that should last you a very long time.
It’d be a lot easier if you could be more specific. I know that camera back and forth, but I’m not going to sit here and write out the entire manual for it.
The basic operation should be pretty similar to your Rebel. Top wheel controls the shutter speed, thumb wheel controls the aperture and exposure bias, the big button on top makes it go click.
I would suggest sitting down with your camera and its manual and just play around with it for a few hours. Go through the menus and figure out what everything does, and once you get it set up the way you like it, just go shoot. You shouldn’t have to think about it too hard.
