Where are there some abandoned places or warehouses near NYC?
I want to do some photography next week and am looking for places that I won’t have a problem at. I can’t find any helpful information via Google. If you know any places can you give me a specific location? Preferably a place that’s easy to get to via subway. I realize it will probably be in Brooklyn or Queens, etc. Thanks
There aren’t that many places that are abandoned. Most everything gets converted into condos now as soon as the business that was there moves away. I would suggest Greenpoint Brooklyn to start with. Domino Sugar plant on the corner of Kent Avenue and South Second street is a pretty decent structure. You have to get your pictures from the street though. The property is all fenced off and off limits. If you can get to the Brooklyn Navy Yard you will be able to get some shots at empty warehouses too.
