what are some good ideas for art experimentation?

I’m working on my art portfolio and they like experimentation :) so I need some helpful tips maybe water color techniques or cool tricks with markers and pencil crayons, spray paint, ink, pastel combining two or more mediums, anything! its mainly drawing painting and sketching no sculpture or film/photography. I need ideas people thanks! also what are some good ways to get texture into your artwork?

There’s nothing like doing your own thing, getting down with all the ‘ hands- on’ biz , it’s exciting, messy, fun, but it teaches you stuff.
But here’s a few ideas to try
Wax resist– where you draw with wax crayons, then paint over it with thin watercolour, so the wax drawing shows through
Crayon etching — where you prepare a ground of thick wax crayon, paint over with black paint( add a bit of pva to paint ), let it dry, then etch into the black with a pointed instrument
Oil pastel etching –draw thickly with one or more layers of oil pastel, then draw into it with a pointed stick , etc
Use dribble and splash techniques like Jackson Pollock
Take ‘ rubbings’ from surfaces in or outside buildings ( brick, tile, frosted glass, flooring, etc )
