i have a samsung digital camera,and a visioneer 7300 usb scanner,and i need to know how to hook them up?

my camera comes with a usb cord does my scanner and camera have to be hooked up at the same time? i am confused,because my computer only has two spots one is occupied by the cord to my mouse ,and the other is where my scanner is hooked up.so how excatly do i do this,because i need to upload some photos

The nice thing about USB and MS Windows XP or Macintosh OS’s is that when you plug in a device or unplug a device the computer recognizes that immediately.

You hook up what you need when you need it. You can also buy a USB hub (they’re pretty cheap) with multiple ports. You plug the hub into the spare USB jack on your computer then you plug whatever USB devices you have into the hub (and the 1 remaining port on the system. This way you can hook them all up at the same time.

On my PC at home I can have 3 external hard drives, a 9 in 1 card reader, wireless usb mouse, scanner, and printer all hooked up as needed via either the ports on my system and/or my usb hub.
