My digital camera software is not detecting the camera?

Previously, my FinepixViewer software was detecting my Finepix digital camera but not any more. The computer seems to detect it okay but not the software. This is also the case with Iomega Hotburn Pro..On connecting the external CD writer, the software is not detecting it, even though it did previously. Both these devices use USB connection and device manager is not coming up with any USB problems. What could be the reason for this?

A digital camera is detected the same way as a flash card. It should show up as a device in My Computer under the heading Scanners and Cameras. If you can get that far and no further, check to see that the camera batteries aren’t flat. If that’s okay, reinstall your camera software.

In the meantime, go to the Digital camera listing in my computer, click on it as if you were clicking on any other folder. All the photos will be listed. Highlite and copy the photos to any folder. You can then delete the photos in the camera as you would delete any other file. Simple aye?
