usa camera outlet

outlet power adapter thing?
Okay, so I will be traveling from the USA to Australia in a couple of weeks.
I am in need of one of those outlet plug things that will allow me to use electronics from here, there. Really, all I want to do is to plug in my camera to recharge the batteries.
When my Aussy friend was here last year, he used one to charge to cell phone, so I’m pretty sure I need one.
I must not have the name right or something, or else I am completely ignorant – true – because I’m having a hard time finding the right thing.
Any help would be very, well, helpful.
Australia uses 240volts, VS 110 volts in USA, you will need a step down transformer to be able to use their wall power outlets.
A socket adaptor will just allow you to plug the device, but not cut the voltage, You can only use this if the charger you have is a dual voltage 110/240 volts input.
A transformer is a little bit big and heavy to bring along. A would recommend bringing a USB charger and a Car charger (which is usually 12volts) for more convinience.
