video camera tripod accessories

what is the canon 50d body made out of and camera advice?
i am considering the canon 50d. i was wondering if it has a plastic body or not. i have been all over and cant figure it out. not that its a deal breaker or anything, just curious.
the kit i am looking at comes with the 28-135 lens and pixma pro9000 printer. this kit goes for $1190. or would it be better to just get the body and pick up the lenses separately?
i am then interested in getting a long distance lens and macro lens (any advice)? i’m hoping to spend less than $1000 on both lenses.
i have also considered the T2i it has some nice features like hd recording and a few other things. but i think the 50d sounds better for everything else. i think i will be doing more photos rather then video.
i don’t have any camera accessories–tripod, bag, etc., so i would have to get all that at sometime too.
Hey,
The 50D is made of metal, it feels perfectly in my hands, I have one.
The 28-135 isn’t really a great lens, and 1190$ is too much, you can get the body for what, 850$ on Amazon? It’s a great camera and if you want to know more about buying a DSLR and what’s important, what’s not, megapixels and features, look at this article – http://the-digital-photographer.blogspot.com/2009/11/what-dslr-should-i-buy.html There are also Amazon links for cameras.
Lenses. Macro and telephoto for less than 1000$? That is possible, get a 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM or EF-S 60mm f/2.8 and then a 70-300mm. If you want to know which lens to buy (also sub articles for macro, sports, telephoto) and what are all those numbers, look here – http://the-digital-photographer.blogspot.com/2009/11/buying-lens.html
Good luck!
