“The Ghost and The Darkness” film, what did you think about it?

Hi

Just a few q’s:

What genre/sub-genres do you consider the film to be?

Did you find the film ‘effective’? What did you think of the film, did you like it/dislike it, and what would you give it out of ten?

Why do you think that the film is told through Samuel’s (John Patterson’s guide) point-of-view?

Also, I wanted some information on the production elements such as Camera work/Camera movement (such as the different camera angles), Music, Lighting and Special Effects, in the film “The Ghost and The Darkness”.
Possibly what you might know about the elements or even if you could provide me with a website or any other source.

If possible, I would also like a few sites from where I can get info about the movie.

Thanks for your help. :-)

You can go to IMDB they have the most complete info on movies, here is the link:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116409/

But since you are asking for film techniches specifications thats gonna be hard to find unless you google for film schools or tutorials. Its gonna be hard but not impossible.

The film is told by through samuel’s ppoint of view because that way it can be seen as a fable, as an history you heard of, like a myth, if the story were told by kilmer’s point of view it would lose all the misticysm. It creates more expectation not to know what the character is thinking all the time.
I think this is a thriller movie. And its very effective to me since it got me glued to my seat watching it.
